Midalidare Pinot Gris 2019 represents impressively a classic variety through the prism of the local terroir.

Beneath the delicate hay color, beautifully filling the glass there is a fine, complex, perfectly structured composition of minerality, spiciness, fruity and citrus nuances.

The taste and aroma are dominated by a particularly intriguing, fine, pleasant note of salted almonds, leading the senses to a distinctive and charming minerality complemented by fine spicy notes of white pepper and coriander seeds. The citrus profile on the nose is formed by notably fresh notes of lime juice that nicely lead to lemon peel, lemongrass and grapefruit in the taste. The fruity nuances of white cherries, yellow apple, hinted pear and quince jam, as well as floral tones of lavender, lilac and cloves give additional complexity to the aroma. Cream, rose oil and a powerful aroma of pure butter add to the structure of the wine.

The taste is also complex and well structured. Here, too, the spiciness is palpable, but gentler – in the face of geranium. Pleasant sweetness combined with shades of pure butter and quince jam lead to a long and memorable aftertaste.

Very good wine, impressive with an extremely high level of complexity, excellent harmony and excellent aftertaste.
